Buildings review and improvement

The NHS and councils in our area own a large number of buildings, but rarely do they share space, or monitor the potential benefits of this.

By working together we will make sure that all of our estate is used effectively and efficiently with buildings sold when they are no longer needed, releasing money back into our services

We have established a Mid & South Essex Strategic Estates Forum which comprises representatives from all NHS provider and commissioning organisations, local authorities, One Public Estate, Public Health, NHS Property Services, colleagues from police and fire services and NHS England and Improvement.

By working together, we can ensure the best use of estates resources across the mid and south Essex footprint.

This includes prioritising estates development, ensuring maximum utilisation of buildings used by the NHS, local authorities and other partners.

We will also plan and prioritise new estates programmes, ensuring that the significant housing developments planned across the area take due account of infrastructure requirements.

The Strategic Estates Forum links closely with both workforce and digital work streams across the Partnership.
