National priorities / local plans
What we want to achieve
The NHS has made significant progress over the last ten or 20 years, with the major diseases that cause unnecessary death and disability, such as cancer, heart disease and stroke. There is still much to improve and these areas will remain a high priority for the decade to come. There are some areas, such as mental health, that have had less national attention in the past. These have taken a higher priority in the last few years and will remain in focus for the next ten years.
Our partnership of the Mid and South Essex STP will achieve more within the longer term national aims by combining the resources and expertise of all of our health and care organisations. We will work in one direction, with common goals to put national priorities into local practice.
Where we are now
